"Sol LeWitt Comes to North Adams"
Thursday, April 3, 6-8 p.m., in MCLA Gallery 51.
The event is free and open to the public with pre-registration. The lecture is a part of the on-going "Tricks of the Trade: Talks for Artists" series.
MASS MoCA and North Adams will soon be the new, permanent home of large-scale drawings by Sol LeWitt, often referred to as one of America's foremost artists and a founding father of minimal and conceptual art. This new addition to the Museum is expected to increase tourism and further establish MASS MoCA and the Northern Berkshires' reputation as a destination for contemporary art.
Who is Sol LeWitt? How will this new, permanent exhibit impact the community? Joe Thompson, director of MASS MoCA, will address these questions and others in anticipation of the exhibition's opening later this year.
This lecture is presented in collaboration with MASS MoCA.
To pre-register, please call Jessica Conzo, BRRC program coordinator, 413-663-5253. MCLA Gallery 51 is at 51 Main St.
