Adam Michael Rothberg Appears at Railway Cafe January 23
North Adams, MA - The Railway Cafe starts the new year with a Berkshire favorite on Friday, January 23rd at 7:30 pm. Pittsfield native, Adam Michael Rothberg. Adam recently released his second CD Another Spin, which sounds a bit like the Beatles and Elvis Costello got together to do a few gigs. Rothberg has been known in this area for being a singer-songwriter, and now it seems like the rest of the folk scene is paying attention after he was named a finalist in the 2008 Northeast Region Mountain Stage competition.
Boston Weekly Dig states, "Adam has toured with Joan Baez, produced Dar Williams, and performed with the best local folk scene, but now it's Rotherberg's turn to step out of the folk shadows, and the result, Another Spin, is lyrical poetry..." Berkshire Living called him "Berkshire's answer to Paul McCartney."
Opening for Rothberg is Justin Hillman who was highlighted last spring at the Railway's Student Showcase concert in April. Hillman has been busy since then, making a new CD, playing constantly throughout the Berkshires, and being a full time student.
Railway shows take place at MCLA's Gallery 51, 51 Main St. in North Adams. The concert starts at 7:30, and doors open at 7 pm. Admission for this event is $10 in advance, $12 at the door and $8 for students and seniors, with a special discount for those with an MCLA ID. To make reservations, call 413 664-6393, or email railwaycafe@juno.com.
