The initial screenings will survey "The Tragedies and Triumphs of Italian Neorealism," and start with Ermanno Olmi's Il Posto (The Sound of Trumpets) (1961, 93 min., in Italian with subtitles), a film in which
the tragedies are tiny and the triumphs endearing, as a teenage boy leaves his village for "the job" in a Milan factory.
