Mark Potts of BackFence argues for charging

Mark Potts was one of the first managers of the Washington Post's website and is the co-founder of BackFence.com, a network of community user-generated news websites in suburban Chicago, Washington and San Francisco. This is an unusually strong plea for news organizations to bite the bullet and start selectively charging for unique content. Note he says he will be posting again about this.
