MGP2006 alum Josh Wilson works on relaunch for NewsDesk.org

NewsDesk.org, the San Francisco-based site which both originates and links to so-called overlooked news, is undergoing a facelift, according to Josh Wilson, the MSM refugee who started it a couple of years ago. Wilson, who was one a couple of panels at MGP2006, writes:

"Big changes at Newsdesk, all inspired by the Media Giraffe conference, which gave me heaps of perspective on how the low-budget bubble we've been trapped in limited my vision for what's possible with the project. As a result, we relaunched News You Might Have Missed as a narrative, and recently launched a beta of our new Web site, which was built entirely by a volunteer. It's still in development, color and logo will change, but it's way better than our old one, and makes much better use of the natural capacities of the Movable Type platform: http://newsdesk.org/ So far, the readership is responding well. Our rate of traffic growth is increasing, and for the first time ever we're getting comments from visitors."
