COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Do newspapers matter to their civic life of their communities? Esther Thorson, research director at the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute, Missouri School of Journalism, wants to answer that question with facts. Thorson outlines a proposed research project: "Newspapers and Community: Documenting the Connection -- the Newspapers Matter Project," during a June 24, 2010, talk to editors and publishers at the institute.
