Sole local radio station in Bennington, Vt., to go silent?

The only radio station with a local studio in Bennington, Vt., WBTN 1370-AM, may be shut down by its college owner in May unless a new operator or owner comes forward. Southern Vermont College said in a statement it is open to proposals from community members but can't continue to carry the losses the station has incurred since the college was given the station in 2001, a news release from the college said.  Southern Vermont College sponsored a day-long symposium on the station's future in May of 2007.
