Issues for Massachusetts High School press

Listen to audio of a panel of student editors and their advisors from Massachusetts high schools as they discuss the challenges of publishing in-school newspapers.   "The Future of Journalism," opened a day fall symposium, "No News is Bad News," organized by the Massachusetts Foundation of the Humanities and held Sat., Nov. 17, 2007, at Boston College.  Joining moderator Helen Smith, executive director of the New England Scholastic Press Association, were: Edmund Sullivan, executive director of teh Columbia [Univ.] Scholastic Press Assocation; Harry Proudfoot, advisor to The Village, a four-day-a-week high school paper in Westport, Mass.; and student editors Alex Schneider of Newton South, Alexandra Sliwkowski of Lincoln-Sudbury High School and Lucy Xu, of Newton North.  Listen to a streaming audio of the high-school session by clicking on the cart at the start of the bar below.
